Open Customers, then the Membership types tab. A membership type is a card you sell or give away from Members: what it admits to, for how many people, for how long, and what a member pays at the door.

You need Set up membership types and cancel memberships to change anything here.

The page has three parts: your membership types, your Access levels and your Membership terms. Set up the access levels first.

Access levels

What a membership admits to, such as "General admission" or "VIP lounge". Access all areas is built in.

Type a name in New access level and press Add. Rename changes one; cards already issued keep the name they were sold with.

The door app shows a card's access level when it is scanned, so door staff know where the member can go.

Create a membership type

Press New membership type:

  • Name (required). For example "Black Card".
  • Access (required): what the card admits to, from your access levels.
  • Admits (required): people per visit, the holder included.
  • Price: what the card costs. Use 0 for a card you only give away.
  • Valid for: 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, from the day it is paid or given.
  • At the door:
    • Free entry: members get in free.
    • Members pay an entry price: set the Member entry price, per person. It is shown to the door when the card is scanned.
  • Description: for your team. Optional.
  • Its own terms, instead of the venue's default membership terms: tick it to write Terms for this membership type.

Press Create.

The list

Each type shows its access, how many it admits, its length, its price, what members pay at the door, own terms if it has them, and its status: Available or Switched off.

From its menu (the three dots):

  • Edit. Changes apply to cards issued from now on. Cards already issued keep what they were sold with.
  • Switch off stops selling it. Cards already issued keep working until they expire. Switch on sells it again.
  • Delete. Only a type that has never issued a card can be deleted. If cards exist, switch it off instead.

Membership terms

The default terms for every membership type without its own. For example: "Valid for the period shown on the card. Not transferable. The venue may refuse entry." Press Save terms.

Each card keeps a copy of the terms it was sold under, so changing them later only affects cards issued from then on.

If you charge a fixed booking fee per ticket, it is added to memberships too. See Payments and booking fees.
