Open Marketing in the menu. The Campaigns tab lists your emails to customers about your events. The other tabs are Promo codes and Agents.

Campaigns are for owners and managers: you need Write and send email campaigns.

Only customers who said yes to your news get them, never someone who already has a ticket for the event, and nobody more than your weekly limit (see Venue settings).

The list

Each campaign shows its name and event, its Status (Draft, Scheduled, Sending, Sent or Stopped), When it went out, and how it did: Sent, Clicked, Orders and Revenue. Automatic marks the ones a series sent on its own (see Automatic emails).

Write a campaign

Press New campaign. It saves as you go: the top says All changes saved.

Event

  • Event (required): what the email sells. People who already have a ticket for it never get it.
  • Campaign name: only you see this.
  • Also show: up to two more events, as cards under the first.

You can also start a campaign from an event, with Email customers at the top of it, or from the Overview's suggestions, and the event is already chosen.

Who gets it

  • Everyone who can be emailed.
  • Came to the event's series, if it has one.
  • Likes one of the event's music genres.
  • A saved segment: pick one of your segments.

The box counts how many people will get it, and how many emails are left this month on your plan.

Email

Write it like a message to a regular. The event's image, date, price and ticket button are added for you.

  • Subject (required).
  • Preview text: the grey line inboxes show after the subject.
  • Heading: leave it empty to use the event's name.
  • Message: a blank line starts a new paragraph, and web addresses become links.
  • Show the event's cover image at the top.

Use the language buttons to write it in your customers' other languages too. Each customer gets their own language, and anything left empty uses your main version. The send window tells you how many customers will get the main version because theirs is not written.

Preview and test

Preview shows the email exactly as customers will see it, on Desktop or Phone. Send me a test emails it to you.

Send it

  • Send now: a window asks you to confirm how many people get it. An email cannot be unsent. Anyone who buys or unsubscribes while it is going out is skipped.
  • Schedule: choose Send at, in your venue's timezone. You can still change it until then. Cancel schedule puts it back to a draft, and nothing is sent.

Delete, in More actions, removes a draft. Nothing has been sent, so nothing else changes.

While it is sending, the page updates by itself, and Stop sending stops it. Nobody else gets it, and whoever already got it keeps it.

How it did

Once sent:

  • Sent, Delivered, Opened (Apple Mail opens every email itself, so this reads high), Clicked, Bounced, Unsubscribed and Failed.
  • Orders, Tickets and tables and Revenue: paid orders made within 7 days of clicking, net of refunds. The orders also show the campaign on their order page.
  • Why emails failed, as the email provider explained it. Fix the cause, then press Retry failed.
  • What was sent: the email as it went out.
  • Left out: people who matched the audience but were kept off this email, and why: Not opted in to marketing, Already bought this event, Reached your weekly limit, Over this month's allowance, Email address bounced or Erased.

Automatic emails

A series can email its past guests before each night, by itself. On the series page, under Automatic email, tick Email past guests before each night and choose how many days before.

It goes to everyone who came to the series and can be emailed, never to anyone who already has a ticket for that night, and only once the night's tickets are on sale. The card says when the next one goes and to about how many people.

Write it once for every night: Subject (empty uses the night's name), Preview text, Heading (empty uses the event's name), Message and Show the night's cover image at the top, in each language. The night's image, date, price and ticket button are added for you. Use Preview and Send me a test, then Save changes.

Each one sent is listed under Campaigns, marked Automatic.
