Your door staff scan everything with the Floorful door app, on any phone or tablet: tickets, table bookings, guest list places and membership cards. Several doors can scan the same event and share one count.
Open door.floorful.app in the phone's browser and add it to the home screen to install it like an app.
Sign in with the device's door account: a team member's email and password. For a phone that stays at the door, create an account for the device itself, such as door1@yourvenue.com, with the Staff role. See Team.
What the device can do follows that account's role, such as letting someone in by tap or taking a balance. See Roles.
Forgot password? emails a reset link to the email you typed. Signing in needs an internet connection; after that the app works offline.
Events
The app lists tonight's events and the week ahead, with their posters. An event shows NO MEMBERS if membership cards do not admit to it, and CANCELLED if it was cancelled. View past events shows finished ones, for corrections afterwards: reversals and re-scans still work there.
The top shows when the app last synced. Pull it up to date by opening the events list while online.
Tap an event to open it. The header shows Expected, Member and In: how many people are expected, how many members are in, and how many are in altogether, from every door.
Scan
The Scan tab uses the phone's camera. On a device with a built-in or connected scanner, use Switch to hardware scanner. Switch to camera goes back.
Each scan shows a full-screen result:
- Valid and Checked in (green), with the name and what they hold: a ticket type, Table and its number, a guest list place or a membership card with its access level.
- Invalid (red), with the reason: Already scanned (with when and by which door), Refunded, Cancelled or Not valid for this event, which covers a code for another night, another venue or nothing at all.
Notices on the result tell staff what to do:
- Check ID, on a corporate membership card, with the company name.
- to pay: a table balance or a member entry price to collect.
- How many people the code admits.
For a code that admits more than one, such as a table or a party on the guest list, the app asks how many are here now. Admit them all, or some now and the rest later on the same code. On the result, the minus button reduces the count if you admitted too many.
Guest list
The Guest list tab is everything expected tonight: tables, guest list names, members and tickets. Search by name, table or ticket type.
Each entry shows how many are in out of the party and anything DUE. Tap Check in to let people in by name, for example when a guest has no phone. Tables and guest list places can always be checked in by name. Other tickets need a role allowed to admit a guest whose ticket will not scan.
Take a balance
When a table owes money, the app shows BALANCE DUE with the amount. Take it at the venue, then tap Paid in cash or Paid by card. The party can then be checked in. You need a role allowed to take money at the door.
Scanned
The Scanned tab lists who is in, newest first, with the time and the door. Search it with Search who is in.
Undo reverses a check-in made on this device, all of it or part of a party. One made at another door is undone in the back office, on the event's Overview, under At the door. See Event overview.
Offline
The app downloads the night's tickets, tables, guest list and members, so it keeps scanning when the Wi-Fi drops. The badge at the top says Online or Offline.
Everything done offline waits in a queue and is sent when the connection comes back. Tap the badge to see what is waiting, and Sync now or Retry all to send it. If the data is over 24 hours old, the app says so: reconnect to refresh.
Settings
The menu on the events list shows who is signed in, with Sign out, the app's Language, and Diagnostics: connection, what is waiting to sync, the last sync and the app version.
Scanner setup explains how to connect a scanner:
- USB or Bluetooth scanners: plug in or pair. Nothing else to set.
- Set the scanner to keyboard output, also called HID or keyboard wedge, and have it send Enter after each scan.
- Built-in scanners (Zebra, Honeywell, Unitech, Datalogic, Sunmi) have a keyboard output setting in their scanner app. Unitech devices also work without it.
